Our team of tutors are a friendly and experienced bunch. We will always have at least 2 tutors per group so that students have enough help.

ANNI MCAULIFFE

Helen alford

Course leader - Piano and Violin

​

Helen Alford is a sought after and popular teacher of the piano. She teaches in several local schools and also privately at home. She is passionate about her work and dedicates herself to ensuring that her pupils develop a love of learning the instrument whilst mastering a thorough, refined technique.

Charlotte mcauliffe

Tutor - Cello 
​Charlotte studied the ‘cello at the Royal Northern College of music, with Chris Hoyle, Head of Strings. Charlotte is an experienced chamber musician and soloist. Her most recent engagement was performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto with the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra. Charlotte also works as a session musician, recording and performing live on stage with artists, including for The X Factor. Charlotte currently teaches at The King’s School, where she enjoys working with her students to improve their playing and technique, whilst ultimately ensuring music-making is fun!

EMILY SMITH  

Course Leader - Cello and Piano

Emily studied piano at the Royal College of Music, London with Niel Immelman and Gordon Fergus-Thompson, also learning cello with Alexander Boyarsky. Emily is now based in Peterborough where she is a busy teacher and accompanist as well as cellist with the local string quartet Intermezzo.

OLLIE HAMILTON-BOX

Choirmaster - Voice, Cello and Piano 

​Ollie studied orchestral and choral conducting at The University of Huddersfield under Natalia Luis-Bass. He is the founder and director of Chorum Novum, a choir most famous for its performance of Spem in Alium when the choir expanded to 85 members. Ollie has also formed several scratch ensembles, including a workforce choir, a community choir, and the 90 piece Huddywood Film Orchestra and Chorus.

Course Leader - Violin and Viola

Anthea McAuliffe studied under the renowned RAM professor Howard Davies.  Since then she has gained nearly 20 years experience in teaching the violin to all ages.  She is passionate about making violin learning fun whilst teaching the highest standards of fine technique.  Anthea maintains an active professional performing career through her post as founder member and leader of the Intermezzo String Quartet and uses this inspiration to fuel a passion for ensemble playing in all her students.
